Glory of Goggle V in Indonesia

For a long time, Goggle V was a term for "Super Sentai" in Indonesia. The serie triumph heavily in the '80s as the only Super Sentai known in Indonesia. Not until the rise of private TV channel that begun to air other series. But in Western Borneo, there was a "leak" TV signal from Malaysia, notable TV-3 that also aired many of tokusatsu series, the signal was able to received in Indonesia, so did the children of the area enjoyed other form of Sentai, other than Google V.

Goggle V was packed into video-cassette form, together with Gavan, Sharivan, some of Kamen Raider and Ultra series, Goggle V was most memorable sentai in Indonesia. Up till that point, knowledge about other sentai only came in the form of print pictures and toys. Notable were Sun Vulcan, Flashman, Bioman and Maskman. Trivially these other sentai usually refered as Goggle V "duplicates".

Goggle V was memorable for their theme, that is a gem shape helmet, the gymnastic movement and weapons.
Goggle Red- Kenichi Akama a Ruby shape symbolized Atlantis and a Rope as a weapon.
Goggle Black-Kanpei Kuroda a Emerald shape symbolized Asia and a Club as a weapon
Goggle Blue- Saburo Aoyama a Sapphire shape symbolized Egypt (Africa) and a Hoop as a weapon
Goggle Yellow- Futoshi Kijima an Opal shape symbolized a Mu (Lemuria) and a Ball as a weapon
Goggle Pink- Miki Momozono a Diamond shape symbolized a Mayan and Inca and a Ribbon as a weapon

Goggle V also have a Goggle Boys/Girls or Computer Boys/Girls that act as assistent to each Goggle respectively. In transformation to Goggle Robo, only the Red, Blue and Yellow go to the main ship and did the battle.

Gokai Silver cellphone got some interesting feature, all the numbers got a helmet that symbolize the previous sixth rangers. Here the snapshot and explanation :

Sixth Ranger Galore in Gokaiger episode 15-16

In a second serious fight between Sentai (Shinken-Red (fouled) vs Goseiger perhaps the first one), Basco summoned all the sixth ranger to fight Gokaiger. This is a bit late, but the fight against Bosco revealed a bit for the official count of sixth rangers. The present of sixth ranger key as revealed is as follows.

Shinkenger, King Ranger (Ohranger), Time Fire, Dekabreak and Zyu Dragon
are the first line up that got Final Wave-ed earlier.

It's turn out that Basco actually literally has all Sixth ranger keys!
The second line up are: Go on Wings, Gosei Knight, Kiba Ranger (Dairanger), Shinken Gold
Magi Shine, Mega Silver, Gao Silver, Abare Killer and Bouken Silver

The reason Mele included is because Gekiranger already got "standard" five ranger and no standard sixth ranger that fight side by side in their normal show. Mele and Rio did actually in the side of Gekiranger in the Geki vs Bouken movie.

Inclusion of Zubaan is also questioned, Zubaan is not the real normal human.

Inclusion of Magi Mother should raise possibility of Wolzard and all the Magi Sky Saint's.

Inclusion of Deka Master is acceptable because he did fight through the series, then Deka Bright and Deka Gold should be considered.

In Carranger , I guess Signal Man is in but VRV Master out.

Comedy in Super Sentai

Suddenly most of Sentai blog posting about humour/parody/comedy/gimmick in Super Sentai. Well, I am going to highlight funny and entertaining Super Sentai series according to me.

Just a note, most of Sentai before 2000s tends to be serious, perhaps because the actor/team treat the Sentai show as something dramatic and play them in serious way. But, maybe after Carranger, Super Sentai begin to move in as parody and play more humour in it. I do like the humour, and I think that is the strong side of the show. Super Sentai, with coloured super hero, is actually a parody of the whole super hero genre. And as some smart guy say , it is much harder to made people laugh than to made people sad.

Some notable very funny show in Super Sentai:

Kakuranger, Zyuranger, Fiveman, Jetman
Started the show in very bizzare way, but the humour is on par level each other, with comedic episodes enough to make adult people raising eyebrow and laugh. Ninjaman in Kakuranger developed a weird comedy element.

Carranger
Most parodic series. Carranger legend said that the Super Sentai show almost cancelled after the poor performance of Ohranger. The team begin to survive the show in a very bizzare way, by doing a parodic super sentai series. The result is excellent, the audiences loves it. Some parodic elements in carranger :
- The Carranger team that too parodic and anti-hero performances
- Weird concept about the whole villain motives to destroy the Earth, because the Earth 'blocking' a way for the building of Galaxy's Highway
- The funny concept about the Bowzock, and Zonette crush on Red racer
- the sixth hero is replace by parodic Signal man

Hurricaneger
Long after Carranger, perhaps Hurricaneger is the only parodic sentai once again. Some of middle episodes are really eye raising, with the villain concept of Wendinu, Furabijo and Satorakura giving the most bizzare villain.

Dekaranger
Dekaranger have a mild parodic element, but mostly a more adult humour in dialog rather than doing bizzare thing. Deka Yellow, Jasmine is the most member that will pop up a smart-fun dialog. I like Dekaranger mainly because of the humour element in it

Boukenger
Similar to Dekaranger, Boukenger also decorated with more humours. Some of episodes idea are really parodic and fun to watch. The 'precious' seeking episode some come with bizzare idea, for example the "Cinderella" episodes, "Feng Shui" episodes etc.

Go-onger
Go onger is the intended parodic Sentai similar to Carranger. Most of storyline in Goonger episodes is intended to entertain young audiences. The actors casting also excellent in supporting the roles, some of my favorite moment of super sentai are in Go onger.

Shinkenger and Gokaiger
Both series have a good storyline written, and good story line involved lots of humour to make it watchable in long run by adult audiences. Shinkenger and Gokaiger is not intended parodic/humour Sentai series, but it have many passing humour that logic to the storyline. As usual the villain are doing more bizzare humour.

Gokaiger first ten episode with four previous sentai power

Going to first ten episodes, Gokaiger's previous super sentai power achieved = ..... 4 out of 34. This mean after 1/5 of show the rest of episode, suppose to do out the rest 30 tribute episode, which is still very possible. The four super sentai shown in the first ten episodes are : Magiranger, Dekaranger, Gekiranger and Gaoranger , which is also highly popular sentai of the 2000s.

Gokaiger now has footage of previous sentai from Goranger to Goseiger, with only ... hmm.. few haven't shown up, what I can remember is Bioman, Fivemen, Megaranger etc. The rest tribute costume are all faithfully original to the previous design, except for the trans-gender Yellow / Black ranger. Meanwhile, other great news is the awaited Super Sentai Battle Dice-O is now port to Wii console as "Super Sentai Battle Ranger Cross" Game will be like Gundam Musou or Dynasty Warriors game play.
