2016 Doubutsu Sentai Jyuuouger First Looks

Today we got the first looks from 2016 Super Sentai, Doubutsu Sentai Jyuuouger   動物戦隊ジュウオウジャ = Animal Task Force Beast King Ranger. The 2016 theme is back to animal power, the color combination are RED, YELLOW, GREEN, and females are BLUE and WHITE. This is first combination of such color and gender.  The animal power visually can be seen on the front outfit : Falcon, Lion, Shark, Elephant and white can be cheetah or panther.

The outfit itself is bit too simple with only animal motif. The helmet are ok, but White's helmet resembling Gekiranger, while the Blue's looks alike Liveman. Overall not the best original design for this year, and it is not as impressive as Ninninger first appearance last year.

The mecha is shaped as a CUBE. There will be  Jyuuou Eagle, Jyuuou Shark and Jyuuou Lion. There is also Giraffe (orange) and Gorilla (white) as addition.

Notable previous sentai with animal theme:

- 1981 Sun Vulcan - Eagle, Shark, Panther
- 1985 Change man - legendary creatures (dragon, griffon, pegasus, mermaid, phoenix)
- 1992 Jetman - wing animals -  Hawk, Swan, Owl, Swallow, Condor
- 1988 Liveman - Falcon, Lion, Dolphin, Bison, Sai
- 2001 Gaoranger  - Lion, Eagle, Shark, Bison, Tiger, Wolf
- 2006 Gekiranger - Martial Arts with Animal based theme - Tiger, Cheetah, Jaguar, Wolf, Cooper

The most close resembling should be on Gaoranger and Liveman.

The next big thing to watch is the revelation of Jyuuouger actor and actresses. Let's wait a few weeks more!
