Hanarangers - Female Ninja Sentai in Kakuranger

In the wake of 2015 Super Sentai series that will be a ninja theme, let's revisited some of weird moment in super sentai involving ninja. Of course the one we dig in is in Kakuranger. The interesting part is the existence of Hanarangers, or in full name, Flowery Kunoichi Team (花のくノ一組 Hana no Kunoichi Gumi). Kunoichi is female counter part of ninja.

They are female villains to counter the heroes, Kakuranger. In the story, Hanarangers were created from cats. Apparently since Kakuranger itself is not very popular, the information for Hanarangers is also few. Let's revisited each member of Hanarangers now:

Sakura , pink kunoichi, her flower is Cherry Blossom 

Cast by actress : Sakita Megumi (咲田めぐみ) / Ryo Narushima / Keiko Hayase (born June 3, 1971 in Tokyo, Japan. )

She also played Remi Hoshikawan Five Yellow in Fiveman, creditted as Keiko Hayase

Ayame, blue kunoichi, her flower is Iris. Prettiest among the Hanarangers?

Iris was played by two actress, Maho Suzuki ( 鈴木真帆) (episode 15-20), Ikuma Miki / Miki Namama (生間美紀) (episode 35 - final). The photos are Ikuma Miki.

Suiren, green kunoichi, her flower is Lotus or Water Lily.

Actress : Honda Junko (本田順子)

Yuri, orange kunoichi, her flower is Lily.

actress : Noguchi Ritsuko (野口律子)

Ran, purple kunoichi, her flower is Orchid.

actress : Tanabe Chie /Tomoe Tanabe (田邊智恵).

Tanabe Chie is also notable as stunt women in super sentai and other Tokusatsu show.

She appeared as Mizuki Kido in Gogo V, as temporary member.

2015 Super Sentai Nin'Niger - 3rd Ninja Theme ?

As circulated and become acknowledge by Super Sentai fans around the world, the 39th Sentai team is pretty much revealed. Trademark has been registered in Japan for a title of Shuriken Sentai Nin’ninger (手裏剣戦隊ニンニンジャー).

The name suggest this will be once again Ninja related theme. The 3rd ninja theme in Super Sentai world. The first is Kakuranger and then Hurricaneger. Even Shinkenger can be quite close to this theme. Toei seems will always champion hot selling theme such as Dinosaurs, Police Force, Martial-art and Ninja-theme into super sentai line up. Let's hope with the success of Kyoryuger where they recycling Dinosaur theme into a good one, the 2015 Super Sentai Nin'ninger will also get the same achievement. Let's hope and see for further details which going to occurs very soon.

Ai Moritaka of ToQger Pink Kagura - Photo Collections

Ai Moritaka is actress for Kagura Izumi, imaginative female main character from 2014 Super Sentai show ToQger. Along with Riria Baba who played Mio in the same show. As with many female super sentai actress, their current photo collections are hard to get. The Waiting for Zyuranger Official Sub by Shout Factory

In San Diego 2014 Comic Con happening last July, fans of Super Sentai got a shocking news. We learn that Kyoryu Sentai Zyuranger is going to get its official sub. Read it right, this is official. The company that dare enough to do this is none other than SHOUT FACTORY. They have been known to be champion of classic cartoons, animes, Power Ranger and other weird thing. This news hastily reach worldwide fan-sub group that do Zyuranger, notably TVNIHON and GUIS. They reacted even faster, quite premature I believe, by removing their fan-sub version of Zyuranger. As for today, we are in the gap where Zyuranger show is missing on the surface.

Since July 2014 up till now, that is only two months by now, there are almost zero news about this development of Zyuranger official sub. No news from Shout Factory to following their Comic Con announcement. At the moment we only learns that it will be subbed, rather than dubbed. It will also only, at the moment, released in United States on DVD region 1.

The removal of fan-sub Zyuranger on mainstream fan-sub groups and any other related websites is understandable. It is to favor the support of super sentai fans to its official creator and business partners. What it is not favor is, the other region of the world, the unfortunate countries such as South East Asian where still large base of super sentai fans exist, can't never get the DVD legally. We will have no choice, and will now only rely on "others".

In the meantime, let's hope Zyuranger will success in its official release, and wish the United States fans a big CONGRATULATIONS.

For those who still do not familiar with Zyuranger, it was the Japanese original show that become the basis of Power Ranger. Zyuranger is a Super Sentai show, their sixteenth installment in Japan.

Riria Baba of ToQger Mio Photo Collections

ToQger is the 38th Super Sentai series and its marked the return of duo female heroine rule. The female ranger are Mio as ToQ-3 ( トッキュウ3号 Tokkyū San-gō) and Kagura as ToQ-5 (トッキュウ5号 Tokkyū Go-gō). This post is about Riria Baba who cast as Mio in ToQger.

Baba Riria (馬場 梨里杏),  born 18 December 1993 in Tokyo. Riria is very talented in gravure and photo modelling.  In 2011, she won the Playboy Grand Prix prize at the third Gravure Japan awards. Aside from ToQger, she also appears in the film duology/TV miniseries Zero: Black Blood as the Makai Priestess Yuna.

Kyoryuger vs Go-Busters 2014 Photos

The versus movie between 2012 Go-Busters and 2013 Kyouryuger is ready for us. In this movie both team being help by the Dinosaur sentai: Zyuranger and Abaranger. When we counted the cameo of ToQger in the ending, this make Kyoryuger vs Go-Busters the largest team assembling that appeared together in a movie, after the Gokaiger arc.
